Within the Patronito ecosystem, we issue two types of documents. As soon as your payment is processed, you will automatically receive a receipt based on the location where you are making the payment. In the Czech Republic, this is a tax-deductible “Donation Receipt”. When supporting projects on international versions, you receive a “Transaction Confirmation”. This confirmation serves as an official document proving that your funds went directly toward supporting our projects, and in the case of the Donation Receipt, also as a tax-deductible document.

As a non-profit organization, we implement projects that address specific challenges of today's world. We carry out these projects in cooperation with local partners, our Guarantors. If you decide to donate funds, you choose the specific project you want to support. We then release your donations in the form of grants directly for the implementation of these selected initiatives.

At Patronito, not everyone can apply for support. We carefully vet all grant applications and published projects before launch. If the full amount is not raised, we use a milestone system, which allows us to implement the project in parts and take it as far as the funds allow. Each milestone can thus be partially funded. We work in demanding conditions, in areas of conflict and humanitarian crises. Should a situation arise where a project cannot be implemented even partially, we will use your donations for another project in the same category. This ensures that your help has exactly the impact you intended.

Excellent question. In the non-profit sector, operating expenses often consume up to 30% of funds. That is not the case with us. To ensure the operation of the platform, payment of bank fees, administrative costs associated with the project, servers, and development, we allocate only 10% of the collected funds. This ensures essential operations, and the rest is invested directly into specific projects. If you decide to provide a “Tip” as part of your donation, these funds serve as a reward for the team and for the further development of the organization.

The Patronito platform was created because, after years in the humanitarian sector, we felt we wanted to do more than just constantly put out the most serious fires. Most platforms are built on raising funds for individual misfortunes and fates, which is perfectly fine. However, we decided to look for concrete solutions to the causes of the problem as a whole. Securing treatment for one sick child is great, but developing a cure for all children suffering from the same disease is, in our view, more important. It may not stir as much emotion, but the impact of the funds spent can be many times greater. Patronito is a community that does not want to repair a single shack, but strives to change the lives of all residents of a slum. These are the types of projects we want to focus on, and we will be happy if you join us.

In the Czech Republic, the platform is managed by the Patroni Česka Foundation, which we founded after 18 years in the non-profit sector as a successor organization to our previous associations. The global part of the platform is managed by our partner Canadian organization, United Patrons.

Currently, only partnered and verified organizations can start projects. This is because we want to strictly control the implementation process and need to fully refine our oversight methodology. In the future, we plan to allow active Patrons to apply for grants, as we believe in creative solutions. When this happens depends on how quickly we succeed in improving the Patronito community platform. Every “Tip” or share helps us bring that day closer.

We care about our community. We realize that funded projects are fragile and are implemented in difficult situations. Therefore, we exert maximum effort to vet projects during the grant application evaluation and through subsequent monitoring during implementation. We offer all Patrons a Donation Value Guarantee up to $100, or the value of donations in the last 12 months (whichever is lower), if it is proven that a specific project involved fraud or intentional deception by the Guarantor, who committed to follow the terms and conditions and the code of ethics.
